……this unique website offers the consumer a one stop shop for all home improvement issues, including free advice, interior design and decorating tips, tool and equipment hire, including a comprehensive list of certified, reliable and quality tradespeople.  In an industry replete with mistrust and exploitation for both the consumer and the tradesperson alike, we promise to bring honesty and transparency back into the home improvement sector.

Unique amongst its competitors, decision2day.com currently focuses on the Yorkshire area and provides consumers and businesses with an informed, proactive and current reference point for buying services and also identifies the right choice of tradesperson for the task at hand. www.decision2day.com aims to become the site of choice for consumers in need of home improvement, maintenance advice and trade services.

Antony Green, Group Managing Director and the Founder of www.decision2day.com (Decision Today Limited) is widely experienced in the building industry and having operated building and construction companies himself fully understands the need for a well managed, current database of quality, experienced and trustworthy tradespeople who are recognised within their trade or profession.  In an industry so wary of the ‘rogue trader’ and the ‘cowboy builder’, it is important that the consumer not only makes the right choice of tradesperson but also that the tradesperson is recognised for their own abilities and are also appreciated and trusted in their own profession as well.  In these times, it is easy to confuse quality with quantity.

Despite alternative companies already in the market place, like Yell and Thompson Local and other similar concepts to www.decision2day.com, there is still a market for a specialist service, which links the consumer to the professional tradesperson, specifically in the home improvement industry.  Part of the consumer appeal is that consumers can find a local professional with a warm record, rather then to ‘cold telephone call’ the yellow pages.

With a national roll out planned for 2009, alongside considerable budgets for marketing and radio and TV advertising, we believe that D2D will be the only reference point for all home improvement issues.

The Directors

Antony Green – Managing Director

The Founder of Decision Today Ltd, Antony is a Barnsley based entrepreneur, with a track record in starting businesses and identifying successful investment opportunities. Having been involved with the construction industry and the housing market throughout his life, he formed his own construction company in 1988, working for blue chip companies such as The National Grid Plc and ICI Zeneca and operating as main contractors for large organisations such as Taylor Woodrow Plc. During the early 1990’s, the construction industry took a significant hit and Antony concentrated on the housing market. He purchased land sites, obtained planning permission and subsequently developed numerous executive properties within prime locations. By this time Antony had many qualified tradespeople working for him and operated a highly successful company. Antony is always looking for new ventures and ideas and his knowledge of the construction industry is a cornerstone of the decision2day concept. He has a track record in driving businesses through the uncertainty of their first few years and is a seasoned negotiator. Antony is married with three children. He is a qualified pilot.

Lawrence Steingold – Finance Director and Company Secretary

Lawrence is a successful Finance Director / Chief Financial Officer with an excellent track record in Software, IT Services and Financial Services. He is well versed in European and USA business cultures with experience in quoted companies and private equity backed businesses. Qualified with one of the leading accounting firms in London following an honours degree in Chemical Engineering from University College London he became a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales in 1981. Lawrence has played a major role in the floatation of various companies and in the divesting of others to the benefit of shareholders. Loves skiing and is fanatical about golf which he is usually available for at very short notice. He is also a Director of Link Performance Management Limited a provider of performance management software to both the public and private sectors.

Samantha Green – Chief Brand Officer

As a key member of Decision Today Ltd, Barnsley based business woman, Samantha Green, plays a major role within the development of www.decision2day.com.  Having spent many years, alongside her husband Antony Green, the Founder of Decision Today Ltd in identifying investment opportunities and start up businesses, Samantha’s experience is a great asset to the team.  Her knowledge of the building industry, alongside her personal experience of the highs and lows of employing tradespeople, enables Samantha to clearly speak from experience when it comes to understanding the home improvement sector.  Having operated companies where the consumer engages the services of a tradesperson and appreciating the importance of communication, Samantha brings to the Board patience and first hand experience.  Unlike her husband, Samantha is not a qualified pilot and likes to keep her feet firmly on the ground, which is a valuable asset in today’s climate.  As a keen ‘home improver’ herself, Samantha welcomes advice and suggestions for improving her home and as such is one of the main developers of the website, in particular with regards to website development, content writing and general guidance and home improvement ideas.  Samantha, like many other working parents juggles her career around her three children and lists walking and swimming amongst her hobbies.

Simon Mountford – Non Executive Director

Simon is a former award winning journalist and was Business Editor of the Yorkshire Post from 1988 – 1993. He is a Partner in Simon Mountford Communications, a corporate and financial PR consultancy, based in York. His career began in Australia, where he worked with Reuters and The Australian, before becoming Sub-editor of the North Wales and the Yorkshire Evening Press newspapers. He has covered most aspects of business life in his career but has specific knowledge of professional firms, the textile industry and the Israeli economy. Simon also has vast knowledge of the Far East, having led a trade mission to Singapore in 1988. He is involved in the wider community, being a former Chairman of the West Yorkshire Committee of the Rural Development Commission, as well as a member of the development committee of the West Yorkshire Playhouse and the Appeal Committee for St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds. He is currently a member of the York Company of Merchant Adventurers.

Jonathan Hick – Non Executive Director

Jonathan featured in the latest series of Channel 4’s award winning series The Secret Millionaire on the 12th April 2009, where he went undercover in Hendon, Sunderland.  In 1998 he founded Directorbank, which has become the UK's leading provider of directors to private equity and venture capital backed companies, with retained clients such as Warburg Pincus, Permira, Barclays, Hermes, Kaupthing and Close Bros. In 2006 he sold part of his stake in the business to a £4.3m management buyout. In 2008 Directorbank acquired Hanson Green, the UK's leading provider of non-exec directors to publicly quoted companies. Jonathan is also Chairman of Sterling Graphic Equipment, a print machinery specialist.  He is also a non-exec director and significant shareholder in Globelink Language Solutions, a 24/7 multilingual helpline for which he raised £1m funding from start-up. Jonathan's early career was in the advertising industry - in 1987 he was part of a management buy-in team that acquired a 60 year old northern advertising agency, where he became Managing Director at 25. He sold his stake in that business, Colbear Dickson, in 1995. He remains an Executive Director and shareholder of Directorbank and provides the Decision Today team with unrivalled access to Britain's boardrooms.
