Corgi - Now Gas Safe

Website www.gassaferegister.co.uk

Gas Safe Register replaced the CORGI gas register in Great Britain and the Isle of Man on 1 April 2009

With over 30 years experience, CORGI is considered the leading authority for information on gas safety issues around the home. Today, CORGI also provides information and support for other trades including plumbing and electrical work.

CORGI was founded in 1970 to protect the public from the dangers of unsafe gas installations. They are acutely aware that poorly trained tradesmen can give the industry as a whole a bad name and bad experiences can make people extremely wary when it comes to employing someone to install or repair a gas appliance.

Read the CORGI Customer Charter to understand the service CORGI provides.

By maintaining an up-to-date register of qualified gas installers and other trades people, CORGI set out to promote the core values of professional service and high standards in safety. Consequently, the CORGI badge is now a guarantee of quality, making it the standard to look for when employing a tradesman.

In recent years, registration has become a legal requirement for anyone installing or repairing gas fittings or appliances. So, you can be sure that any work completed by a CORGI technician will be done competently and safely.

FENSA

Website www.fensa.co.uk

FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme. It has been set up by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) and other industry bodies with Government encouragement in response to the current Building Regulations for England and Wales.

When having windows and doors replaced homeowners must comply with current thermal performance standards and ensure that they get a certificate of compliance from FENSA or from Local Authority Building Control. FENSA also enables companies that install replacement windows and doors to self certify compliance under these Building Regulations.

The FENSA standard is the industry standard for self replacement window and door installers self certifying compliance with the building regulations.
